FAQs

How many photos will I receive ?

I provide an estimated 50-60 final portraits on your online gallery.

Where will my session take place?

Once you book your appointment, I will reach out to discuss location and start time. If you have a location in mind, feel free to let me know - otherwise I will ask what type of scenery you like and make a list of options.

Are there travel fees?

If your session takes place outside the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, travel fees may apply. The standard rate is currently $0.58/mile.

How many outfits can I bring? Where do I change?

I recommend 1-3 outfits for time-spent-changing purposes, but you can bring as many as you’d like. This is your session! I have a portable changing tent that I can bring to sessions if there is no on-site bathroom.

How long until I receive my photos?

My return time for senior portraits is 4 weeks.
If you get to choose a senior portrait for your yearbook, please ensure that you schedule your session accordingly with the yearbook submission due date at your high school. The due dates vary greatly throughout the state!

Are the final images high resolution? Do you provide raw files?

The delivered files will be .jpg and they are set to 300dpi - that means they are print-ready so you don’t have to take any extra steps when ordering! I do not provide raw/unedited images to clients.

How do I pay, and when is payment due?

Payment is due on the day of the session. You can pay via check, cash, Venmo, or credit card. If paying by credit card, I send an invoice electronically via email.

What happens if the weather is poor?

I want your VBP senior session to be pleasant and fun, so I offer complimentary rescheduling in the occurrence of bad weather. Generally, if the forecast is looking like rain I will be in touch with you and we will make the final call at 12pm on the day of your session. Note: I also may choose to postpone if the wind is above 15mph.

What should I wear?

My recommendations on outfits is to avoid neon, all black, extremely distracting prints, horizontal stripes, gaudy jewelry and outfits that you are constantly having to adjust (i.e. straps that don’t stay put). Consider your facial features; blue eyes “pop” with a blue top. Also, consider your location - if your backdrop is a park with beautiful, green trees, green may not be the best option to separate you from the background. If you can’t decide what to wear, you are more than welcome to send an email to me with photos of outfits/pieces you have and I can help. Otherwise, we can narrow down on the day!
